	Media ownership / regulation		Phenomenon of Media Consolidation where fewer and fewer firms are owning media firms in different sectors (ex.news and entertainment) allowing for diversification spreading risk , to offer better products and ability to reach greater audience but lead to lack of local news & biased reporting Horizontal integration in means they take over firms in the same sector, Vertical integration means taking over firms in different sector or stage of production like distribution (animation studio taking over news network & magazine)	Disney’s crusade of horizontal integration starting with Pixar in 2006 and following with other studios like LucasFilm allowed the to feature their IP in their media products such as Wreck it Ralph 2  which features characters from Lucasfilm’s Star Wars allowing for fan service while being able to attract a larger audience (Star Wars fans).
	Synergy		Synergy is mutually beneficial cross promotional strategies used by companies and featured in media products	The beer company Heineken has multiple advertisements in the form of videos and magazine pages featuring the James Bond character who is associated with luxury and sophistication in order that this image is associated with their brand.
	Cross Media Convergence		When 2 forms of media such as streaming and music are merged to create a better product	The artist Kanye West and Drake in 2021 due to limitations brought by the pandemic streamed their benefit concert on Amazon Prime Video this way they reach larger audience while offering a better product.
	New Media		New forms of media such as social media & streaming services are interactable unlike traditional forms of media like newspapers where people are simply consumers but cannot become prosumers.	The pilot episode of Hazbin Hotel released by SpindleHorse production in 2019 has garnered a fan base that has helped spread word of Hazbin Hotel by creating fan-art, fan fiction & fan-dubbed comics,fans can also influence the produciton now where  a song by a fan about the series titled “Addicted” was animated by SpindleHorse and made canon to the story.
	Agenda Setting		Information is chosen and presented in the media to create a narrative or to present something in a certain way often influenced by the media company’s ideology.	Scandals following political candidate Herschel in the US was covered differently by left leaning media like MSNBC and CNN who featured articles focusing on Herschel’s misdeeds while right wing media who attempted to secure Herschel’s christian family man image mostly featured articles about him denying those allegations.
